Schools in Arizona are significantly underfunded. Because of that, teachers are often forced to spend their own money on school supplies, cleaning products and other necessities to help keep students safe and engaged.
Now, thanks to RaiseMe.com, high school teachers across the state can win $2,500 for classroom supplies in an effortless online contest. The contest takes place from now until Dec. 11.
“The Amazing Raise” will award $2,500 in school supplies to the top two high schools in the state who invite and sign up the most students to RaiseMe over the next month. The prize money can be used for classroom supplies, technology upgrades, and cleaning necessities.
RaiseMe is a college readiness and scholarship tool that helps high school students earn micro-scholarships for achievements as early as 9th grade. Participating students can earn incremental, achievement-based financial aid from colleges for their achievements. Currently there are more than two million high school and community college students who have earned micro-scholarships on RaiseMe from nearly 300 institutions, including Arizona State University and many out of state colleges.
This is the first time the contest has been done in Arizona.
Participation is easy:
- Teachers can sign up for a RaiseMe educator account at https://www.raise.me/signup/educator?auth=signup&country=US&userType=educator
- Once logged in, educators will click the blue “invite” button at the top left of the profile page to invite students to join RaiseMe. Invitations can also be sent via email, social media and Google Classroom.
- Teachers can visit the competition page to check rankings each week to see how they fare against other schools in the state.
- It’s that simple!
“We know being an educator is a challenging job, especially with all the hurdles of 2020,” said Amanda Schwabe, Director of Student Partnerships for CampusLogic, a Phoenix-based tech company that acquired RaiseMe. “As an Arizona company, we are proud to help our local high schools in this way. Plus, we are making college more attainable for Arizona students by putting scholarship dollars in their hands and ultimately helping these learners reach their full potential.”
To win, schools need to sign up the most 9th - 12th grade students over the next month. The two schools with the highest percentage of students signed up, based on total enrollment will receive $2,500 to spend on classroom and facility needs.
If you are a high school teacher, sign up today. If you know a high school teacher who could benefit from the prize money, encourage them to register for the Amazing Raise contest.
