Good news for valley families and water park lovers. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix, Arizona’s largest waterpark, splashes into the 2020 season on March 13.
“We are excited to open our gates and welcome guests back,” said Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix General Manager Donald Spiller. “Hurricane Harbor is Arizona’s favorite waterpark with more than 30 thrilling attractions for the entire family, and coming this summer, the all-new Paradise Island. The health and safety of our guests and team members remains our top priority and we’ve worked to create a fun and safe environment for everyone.”
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix has implemented extensive safety measures and hygiene protocols, including several advanced technology systems to protect guests and employees. These procedures will be adjusted on an as-needed basis to ensure compliance with state and federal recommendations.
The park will employ an online reservation system to manage attendance and schedule guests for entry by day. Other new technologies include:
- State-of-the-art thermal imaging for temperature checks;
- Advanced security screening technology for touchless bag checks; and
- Mobile food ordering.
Coming Summer 2021 – Paradise Island
Construction is underway on the all-new Paradise Island at Hurricane Harbor Phoenix. The largest expansion at the park in years, Paradise Island will feature a 12,000-square-foot activity pool with over a quarter of a million gallons of clear, blue water to keep guests cool under the hot, Phoenix sun and a zero-depth entry for little ones. Guests seeking more action can splash and play in a new water volleyball area and a refreshing water basketball court.
Paradise Island is expected to be complete in summer 2021 and will feature a 257,000-gallon activity pool with multiple interactive elements and areas. The entire expansion covers nearly 42,000 square feet and includes extensive lounge seating, comfortable shade, a new food location and new restrooms. Families will also appreciate the convenient location near Coconut Bay children’s area and Adventure River.
Other Paradise Island highlights include:
- A volleyball pool;
- Dueling basketball court and hoops; and
- A beach-style zero-depth entry area.
