In between packing for business trips or family vacations, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed when deciding what to take with you. Bringing the correct technology such as laptops, smartphones, etc. is a must for most while traveling and taking the correct precautions with your devices beforehand can make or break any trip. At Marcus Networking Inc., we recommend travel checklists to our clients and business owners, to make sure they are prepared with everything they need for their upcoming trips.
It’s important to pack a separate travel bag to keep track of all of the necessary chargers and cords. Keeping phones charged for the entire trip is a must nowadays. Bringing a USB-enabled battery charger to use on the plane or in the car to keep phones, laptops and tablets in-use for the entire trip.
If you are traveling with children that like to download games and apps onto their smart devices, consider getting a credit card just for apps. If you need to cancel the card while traveling, it won’t wreck your finances while on vacation. It’s also important to load kid-friendly apps and games onto phones and tablets that don’t require the use of internet. This way kids can still stay entertained without needing a connection to Wi-Fi. To keep devices protected, purchase big rubber cases for your iPads so that they are easily recognizable to your kids and safe to use.
Once you reach your destination, try to avoid connecting your phone to Wi-Fi networks you aren’t familiar with. This is a good precaution to take so that none of your information becomes vulnerable to hackers. If you don’t have a safe Wi-Fi network to connect to, you can use your phone as a hotspot.
At Marcus Networking Inc., we understand that staying on top of your technology and keeping it streamlined while traveling, will help prevent future headaches and frustrations down the road.
