Your Table is Ready, our series featuring restaurants across the valley, continues this month with a look at the North Valley eatery, NPX, A Neighborhood Joint.
My family and I got the chance to visit the spot, which is located near Tatum and Bell. We checked it out on a Sunday afternoon, which was pretty quiet time in the restaurant.
The menu selections were quite extensive and the kids menu had a lot of options for both my boys (who can be pretty picky eaters.)
We all tried something different off the menu and I’m pretty sure not one of us was disappointed with our choice. The portions were a good size, even enough to share depending on how hungry you are.
My youngest, who is a big breakfast foodie, was able to order off their brunch menu and enjoyed kids French toast. He pretty my devoured it, even between playing the Wii games provided by the restaurant. My older son wanted to check out the Mac & Cheese. After just one bite, he said it was one of the better Mac & Cheese dishes he ever ate! Ringing endorsement from a picky 12 year old.
My husband tried out the Brunch Burger- one of his favorite types of burgers. You know, the burgers with eggs, hash browns, pretty much breakfast on top of a burger. It was very large and with the side of fries it came with, he got through about two-thirds of the burger before deciding he couldn’t eat another bite.
As for me, I tried the Twisted Ruben sandwich. It was a new look at the classic sandwich and it was a hit. When the food came to the table I wasn’t sure how much I would be able to eat as the entire sandwich was large. I didn’t finish it but it was a very delicious take on the original sandwich and something I would certainly order again.
Everyone on staff was very friendly friendly. We also got the chance to speak with owner, Michael Siggins, who also owns Pasta Brioni in Scottsdale. He says he wanted to try a different concept from the Italian one he’d been working on for several years. He also selected the location and he enjoyed sharing his passion with the community in that area.
