Tucked away in the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Restaurant lies a hidden restaurant gem, the Hole-In-The-Wall BBQ Joint. So, bring your family, bring your appetite and get ready to rustle up a good meal on the prairie.
Every good meal starts with a good appetizer, and Hole-In-The-Wall has several amazing options to start with. Brisket nachos, fried pickle chips and chicken wings are available, but we started with the Smoked Cheddar Cornbread and are very glad we did. I’ve had my share of cornbread over the years, but I’ve never had it this good. Served in a cast iron skillet, this cornbread is oh so tasty.
When it comes to the main course, you’ll find plenty of BBQ options. With choices ranging from baby back ribs (full or half rack), pulled pork and hot link sausage to flat iron steak, there’s bound to be something for every taste bud. The BBQ plates come served on a smokehouse platter and include a range of fixin’s, including fried okra, bbq baked beans and mac & cheese. For those wanting a little something different than BBQ, Hole-In-The-Wall offers up salads and sandwiches, including their (very tasty) Tombstone Burger. We went with the Flat Iron Steak Platter, with a side of mashed potatoes and corn on the cob and the pulled pork sandwich with a side of cole slaw. Both were fantastic, and meals we would definitely have again.
For the adults, there’s a wide range of tasty cocktails and beers to enjoy. A personal favorite is the Moonshine Lemonade. Available in Strawberry, Peach, Lemon or Blackberry (which is amazing, by the way), is exactly what you would think it is. And wow is it delicious. It’s the perfect drink to enjoy on a cool spring evening.
And if it’s dessert you’re wanting, Hole-In-The-Wall has you covered. Their Signature S’mores (for two or four) comes with your own mini fire pit and plenty of graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate bars for everyone to make their own S’mores. Trust us, you’ll definitely want to leave room for dessert.
What truly makes Hole-In-The-Wall special is it’s location. Tucked away at the Squaw Peak, Hole-In-The-Wall has a spectacular view of the hotel’s pool and the mountain range. And for an added bonus, do yourself a favor and think about going on a Friday or Saturday night. There’s fantastic live music sure to get everyone dancing.
So if you’re wanting to rustle up a good night out for you and your kin, hitch your wagons at the Hole-In-Wall BBQ Joint. It’s one destination sure to make you want to sit for a spell.
