The summer may be winding down and families may be looking for school to start back up- but that doesn’t mean vacation planning for the rest of the year needs to stop. Trust me, you will still be looking for some getaway time with the family soon, whether it be Fall break, Thanksgiving or even Christmas break, there are always plans to be made and sites to be seen.
One great spot to look at taking the entire family this fall is Universal Studios Hollywood. Near the heart of Los Angeles, Universal Studios Hollywood is a fantastic place for kids of all ages, from young to old and everyone in between.
The first stop we made upon entering the park was Wizarding World of Harry Potter. For anyone who is a Harry Potter fan, this is a must-see. From the rides, to the entertainment and of course, the food! You can’t miss Butterbeer, which comes in a variety of ways including soda, frozen, hot, ice cream and fudge! You certainly won’t be disappointed by any of the options- but keep in mind they are pretty sweet so one option will likely keep you satisfied for hours. Ifyou stay until the end of the night through August 18thor head out on Labor Day Weekend, you can catch the Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle.
If you are planning to go and catch the Jurassic Park water ride, be sure to go before September 3rd. The ride is shutting down to prepare to open a new Jurassic World ride in 2019.
If you want to venture outside the park for some food or shopping, Universal CityWalk is undergoing a major transformation and has great options. CityWalk recently renovated the AMC theatre to be the new state-of-the-art Universal Cinema with deluxe reclining seats, hi-tech audio and a new Marketplace concession stand. Other new dining options include Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville and Voodoo Doughnuts – both of which make their California debut at CityWalk, along with Poke Bar. New retail stores are Sephora and Nectar Bath Treats.
So whether you are headed there for a quick trip or for a lengthy family vacation this fall, Universal Studios Hollywood certainly will keep you and the entire family entertained!
*Disclaimer: We were provided complimentary media passes for entrance into the park.
