Do you still have your kid’s old clothes and blankets stored in boxes? Here’s a unique solution to unpack those boxes and bring back memories of those special times. The Patchwork Bear can capture the memories and turn them into keepsake bears, puppies, bags and quilts.
The Patchwork Bear is a company founded by Jennifer Cura, an architect who took her passion for sewing and created a way to produce original, handmade designs that are personalized to the customer. Each thoughtfully designed product is handmade with love in the U.S.
How to get started?
The process is simple: just place your order online, send in your selected clothes and they create your keepsake. The Patchwork Bear sends a gift kit with everything you need to get started. Contained in the cardboard box are detailed instructions on choosing clothes and designing your keepsake. The booklet offers two options: send your clothes and let the designers create the bear, or you can map out the keepsake, selecting where each piece of clothing will go. Once your items have been selected, you mail them in the same cardboard box the gift kit arrived in.
The Patchwork Bear also creats hand-cut and machine sewn quilts. They use 100% cotton batting for warmth and 100% cotton backing then machine quilt all three layers (top, batting, backing) together for a quality finished quilt, which makes for a durable, quality quilt that will last as a family heirloom. The largest quilt they create measures 48×60 inches and features approximately 20 different t-shirts.
The Patchwork Bear products have received numerous awards, notably the Creative Child Magazine Award for Product of the Year for their Memory Bear. They also have a celebrity-following including Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner, Eli Manning and more.
