The baby business is booming in Phoenix and we have the details to prove it. In past years it was sometimes challenging to find new, fun ways to entertain your kids, especially at the pre-toddler age. When the weather wasn’t permitting, in-home play dates eventually became bland and less-than-exciting but now, creative valley businesses that cater to toddlers are becoming more popular and parents and kids alike are ecstatic.
EC Street Playtown
Location: 18631 N. 19th Avenue, Suite 137 in Phoenix (Located at the northeast corner of 19th Avenue and Union Hills in the Union Hills Village shopping center.)
Overview: Resembling a miniature town filled with activities and opportunities for exploration, EC Street Playtown encourages youngsters to let their imaginations run wild. After riding tricycles around central park, children can continue their make-believe outing and visit the grocery store to shop or play behind the toy cash register. Kids can then head to a stocked play kitchen and a workshop filled with plastic tools, alongside other rooms inspired by classic fairy tales such as the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. They can further their creative endeavors in the arts and crafts space that also features educational puzzles and games. And there is even a separate playroom where infants can mingle.
Price: Tots 1 year and under are $4 (or free with another paid admission.) Kids ages 1 – 8 are $10. They also offer monthly and yearly memberships plus have a coupon page on their website with great deals.
Background: Founder, Crystall Young, has been a fulltime, stay at home mom of 5. Ushering her kids between their performing arts school and ballet dance, as well as attending many birthdays and playdates, helped Crystall realize that she wanted to create something that would allow her to continue spending time with her kiddos as well as bring the community together. She hoped to use her creativity to continue to inspire young minds and imagination. After a business plan and a year of hard work, her and her family opened their first location. Jubeelieve Indoor Playland
Location: 965 E Van Buren St. Suite #115 in Avondale (Next to A to Z Equipment Rental just East of Dysart.)
Overview: On the south side of town? Jubeelieve Indoor Playland is for you. They are a “Socks Only” environment great for everyday play and special events. Their cut-off age is 5 years, so it’s the perfect spot for younger kiddos. Their equipment is also age specific for tiny tots. They have low sitting slides, climber and various toys to help with fine and gross motor skills. They have bouncers and walkers to keep your crawlers close plus arts and crafts, mini trampolines and much more!
Price: Tots under 1 year are $5 (or free with a full price sibling admission.) Kids ages 1 – 5 are $9. They also offer monthly memberships and punch cards.
Background: Created by the Butler family, a family of three including a toddler. As new parents with a quickly growing toddler, they learned early that there were not many indoor Valley spots that cater to toddlers.
