Hottest Fall Fashion Trends

By: Chrissy Cunningham

Fall is my favorite time of year for many reasons. The air becomes cool and crisp, pumpkin spice lattes are back, and most importantly, it becomes boot season! What is better than wearing an over-sized sweater or shawl and a pair of gorgeous boots on a cool fall day? As a self proclaimed shop-a-holic, fashion enthusiast, and owner of Cheeky Chic Baby Boutique in Scottsdale, I find myself drawn to the hottest fashions and trends on the market, for both women and children. I am a mother of a two year-old rambunctious son named Chase. When I am shopping, I tend to look for clothing that offers both serious comfort and style so that I can keep up with him during the day!

You may wonder, what is hot in women’s fashion this fall? The answer may surprise you. Plaid, plaid, and more plaid! Any store I have gone in the past month, I have noticed an explosion of tartan and plaid button up shirts, skirts, tops, scarves, and shawls. Over-sized jackets and sweaters are also a current popular look, which is a personal favorite of mine. I have also found that cold-shoulder sweaters are a very a hot item that many women are becoming drawn to this fall. With this said, you may be asking yourself what is the most trendy thing to wear along with tartan and plaid prints and cold-shoulder sweaters? Black or indigo skinny jeans and sleek ankle boots paired with a patent leather purse! In my opinion, this would be considered the perfect outfit of fall 2015! Patent leather is making a serious comeback.

I believe that skinny jeans and a cute pair of boots paired along with a tartan printed top or cold-shoulder sweater creates a versatile, chic, and stylish look that can be worn for date night, a day at the park with the kids, or an afternoon shopping day with the girls. Lastly, another hot fashion item that is popular this fall is lovely leather! A leather motorcycle jacket or vest can add an edgy look to any outfit in seconds!

I have found that the trends this fall are fun and versatile with a touch of edge. All of these looks are easy for the woman or mom on the go to achieve with ease. Happy shopping this fall to all.

Chrissy Cunningham, a native New Yorker, was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She relocated to Scottsdale four years ago with her husband Brian and her parents James and Geri. Chrissy always had a deep passion for fashion and the arts since she was a young girl. After the birth of her son, Chrissy found herself disappointed in the lack of original and fashionable clothing items available for children in the Scottsdale area. She, along with her mother, were inspired to open up a soho-style baby boutique to offer Arizona residents a New York shopping experience. Chrissy and her mom continue to bring their New York fashion sense, accents, and style to the children’s clothing industry in Scottsdale and absolutely love what they do.
