Lisa Vukonich and Erin Owens, Valley moms who were colleagues and friends, decided to pursue their passion and together founded Fuchsia Spa. The newly opened second location is in Northeast Phoenix at High Street and the original Fuchsia Spa is in the East Valley in Mesa. They are thrilled to open at High Street; an area that has previously been underserved by affordable aesthetic and massage services.
About Fuchsia Spa
Sophisticated and chic, yet welcoming and unpretentious, Fuchsia Spa breaks the day spa mold to make the “spa lifestyle” attainable for the modern girly girl and the everyday woman. With a comprehensive menu of services including massage, facial, waxing, nail treatments, custom spray tans and more, along with an affordable monthly membership program that stresses aesthetics and skin care maintenance, Fuchsia offers everything a woman needs to feel confident and beautiful in her own skin.
In fact, Fuchsia is the only membership based day spa in Arizona that specializes in aesthetic services at affordable prices. Fuchsia strives to stay at the forefront with the latest and most progressive aesthetic treatments available. This modern-day spa has also begun franchising. “High Street is our first franchise that has opened,” says Lisa. “We are seeking other hardworking, passionate business people to open some key territories in Arizona as well as some other states.”
Fuchsia was founded partly because the long and grueling work hours in pressure-filled corporate America often left Lisa and Erin, who are both moms and wives, missing important school functions and family events. After talking over lunch, the duo decided their corporate America careers and cushy salaries weren’t worth missing out on life’s most important moments. The new partners decided to leave their gigs to pursue their own venture together as founders of Fuchsia Spa, where their entrepreneurial path would allow family to play an important role.
Today, business owners Lisa and Erin create Honey-do-lists for home and work. “Husbands have been involved in construction and maintenance of Fuchsia,” says Erin. “Our children have even had the ability to work part-time doing laundry, restocking shelves and cleaning. So it really has been a family effort in keeping Fuchsia prospering!”
The new Fuchsia Spa at High Street has also stayed in the family. Sisters and the brand’s first franchisees, Shauna Owens and Marissa Owens, are cousins to the ladies behind the concept. “The great thing about keeping this franchise in the family is the owners really know what it takes to be successful and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure they meet the needs of the guests in North Phoenix,” says Lisa. “Shauna has been a huge part of making Fuchsia successful as she has worked with Fuchsia since we opened over 9 years ago- serving as our lead aesthetician and front desk manager and also has worked extensively in our training department. With all of her years of experience it has been a seamless transition into owning her own location with her sister Marissa. Shauna and Marissa are two of the nicest, most passionate sisters you have ever met and can’t wait to get more involved in the North Phoenix community!” says Erin.
Lisa and Erin love the friendships they have made in the community! Fuchsia strives to be the friendliest spa around, which truly makes it fun for everyone. At High Street, Fuchsia Spa also plans to partner with neighboring businesses in an effort to help each other grow. As they grow and add even more treatments and services, they hope to become even more integrated in the community while adding additional franchise locations.
