Customized subscription boxes are all the rage, and now there’s one just for expecting moms – Mama Boxes. What pregnant woman wouldn’t want a goodie box delivered right to her door? It’s the perfect treat for any stage of pregnancy!
Scottsdale resident, Mandy Holmes, came up with the idea of a pregnancy product-based subscription box service when she was nine months pregnant with her first child. Launched in February of last year, Mama Boxes are delightful care packages filled with pregnancy safe goodies delivered throughout a pregnancy at each trimester. “The amount of product marketing to pregnant women is overwhelming- this way you can try a bunch of items and decide what to spend your money on,” said Mandy.
Companies were chomping at the bit to get their products included in the boxes so Mandy developed relationships with companies, tested products, and held a focus group to help choose the final products for the boxes. Some of the featured products are The Everyday Happy brand of baby wipes and multi-vitamins, Dapple bottle cleaner, and Tiesta Tea for calming the tummy.
Morning sickness or skin changes got you down? No worries, Mama Boxes has you covered with products from morning sickness remedies, skincare designed for pregnant skin, healthy snacks, stretch mark cream, baby products and safe cleaning supplies. The contents in each box are a surprise and are constantly changing.
How does it work?
One of the best features of Mama Boxes is that you can choose to order a bundle ($59.99) or individual ($22.99 per box) trimester boxes. If ordering the bundle, all you need to do is provide the due date and the boxes ship accordingly. The lucky mommy-to-be who is receiving a Mama Box will be delivered a box full of up to 10 sample and/or full size products that are specific to the trimester she is currently experiencing. Everything gets shipped to the recipient’s doorstep within a week of ordering.
What’s in a box?
The first trimester box focuses on products intended for morning sickness relief, changing pregnancy skin, exhaustion, prenatal vitamins, essential oils, healthy snacks and teas. The second trimester box is for the “honeymoon trimester” and features nail polish, hair care, cosmetics, salty and sweet goodies for cravings, gift cards, lip care, and stretch mark prevention creams. The third trimester box is the “nesting” box with pregnancy safe household products, products for baby, sample size items for mom to take to the hospital, breastfeeding support items, diapers, and mommy stationary.
A few celebrities have taken advantage of Mama Boxes including Molly Mesnick (Winner of The Bachelor), Michelle Money (Star of Bachelor in Paradise), Meghan King Endmonds (The Real Housewives of Orange County), and Cassie Trammell (star of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Making the Team Reality Show). Mama Boxes are nationwide and Mandy continues to spread the Mama Box love across the country with tours scheduled for California and Colorado.
