You won’t find frilly, sparkly clothing in Birdee’s Closet, and owner Tiffany Behrmann wants it that way. Tiffany, a mother of two, was inspired by her 6-year-old daughter Emma, also known as Birdee, to learn how to sew in order to create more of a modern vintage style for girls. The majority of what Tiffany has designed can be found in her daughter’s closet… Birdee’s Closet.
The line launched in February last year and is mainly sold on Etsy at www.etsy.com/shop/BirdeeCloset, as well as in Local Lucy’s, a unique gift shop featuring local vendors, located in Belleville, Illinois. The clothing is a combination of old and new with lots of colors and prints mixed together. Everything from flower girl dresses, to leggings, to adorable tops and summer outfits are available. Currently, Birdee’s Closet comes in sizes 0-3 months all the way up to size 10-12. The custom, hand-made clothing ranges from $18 to $60.
Top sellers include Ruffle shorties, Tilly tops and dresses, and baseball clothes that will once again be available very soon. If you would like your little one to sport your favorite baseball team or wear a special outfit to a celebration, you’re in luck; Birdee’s Closet welcomes custom orders.
Birdee’s Closet won’t be just for girls much longer. Tiffany’s son, 3-year-old Tyson, motivated her to create some dressy, yet casual clothes for boys, including coats, shirts and pants that will be available this Fall/Winter. It doesn’t end there! This spring, Tiffany will launch summer attire for moms featuring maxi skirts and dresses, as well as beach pants.
