Computer Programming for Kids

Ever thought of a computer programming class for your kids? Technology growth and learning is so vital in today’s world. Thanks to programs such as iCodeKids, children now have the options for further development in that field.

iCodeKids is an educational service headquartered in Glendale, Arizona with operations throughout the southwest of the United States. iCodeKids specializes in teaching computer coding, website design and application design to people of all ages. The organization is passionately committed to ensuring our students have a healthy understanding of “how” technology works and a healthy understanding of “how” to use technology.  Given the pace of technology innovation and our societies increasing reliance on technology, iCodeKids believes it is vital for the youth of today to have a basic understanding of technology regardless of whether or not they choose to pursue a career in this field.  We’ve all heard horror stories of predators using web-based applications therefore, included in the curriculum, lessons on how to safely use the Internet, web-based application and web based games.   Also, based on the prevalence of social media, iCodeKids developed a social media curriculum to educate students on how to responsibly leverage social media.

iCodeKids exists to help fill a gap in the educational system and a gap in the skillset of the nations workforce.  According to code.org (a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to computer science) 90% of parents want their child to study computer science however only 40% of the schools in the United States are teaching computer programming. Computer programming is the bedrock of innovation – all the technology we use today (applications, websites, video games, robotics) have one major thing in common – they all require “coding” to function and provide value to the end user.   As great as our education system is, it is not nimble and/or innovative. Therefore, iCodeKids exists to fill this gap and ensure our youth have this foundational coding knowledge, which many believe is essential.

iCodeKids provides after-school classes and evening coding clubs.  Additionally, students can take advantage of their winter, spring and summer camps. To find a class nearest you, please visit iCodeKids.net.
