Building Family Memories, New Hotel Opens at Legoland

The summer vacation planning is underway for families across the valley. If Southern California/San Diego area is on your list, valley families should consider all the new and cool stuff going on at LEGOLAND®.

The popular resort and theme park has just opened a brand new Castle Hotel. The Grand Opening was held on April 27th, when the hotel opened its doors to the public for the first time. The hotel houses 250 rooms, with three themes throughout the hotel. Visitors can choose from the Royal Princess room, Magic Wizard room or Knights & Dragons room. All of the rooms come in standard and suite styles to accommodate any size of your traveling party. The standard room can house up to 5 people and the suites up to 7, and for parties of more than 7, there are adjoining rooms available as well.

This amazing new hotel is the second hotel on the property of LEGOLAND®, with the first one opening its doors in April of 2013. Inside this new property, the Castle Hotel, there are more than 2,000 LEGO®models made from more than three-million LEGO bricks. There are also two great placed to grab a bite to eat on property. The first is the Dragon’s Den Restaurant and Bar as well as the Poolside Bar and Grill. Both serve gluten free and vegan options.

All throughout the hotel, there are features aimed at exciting the mind and eyes. Those behind building this property certainly left no stone unturned. Fun features of the property including Magic Levitating Lifts (elevators), Knock-knock Joke Wall, Wave Mirror, an animatronic Grand Master Wizard in the Grand hall, self-playing piano and a throne with audio effects.

The exciting features aren’t limited to the inside of the property. Some of the cool and fun features on the outside of the hotel including a Royal Statue made with more than 250,000 Lego bricks taking a team of Master Model Builders more than 1,200 hours to put together.

LEGOLAND® park is also getting ready for some exhilarating new rides and activities inside the park. Targeted with a July opening date is the new LEGOCity Deep Sea Adventure submarine, with real animals and an under water treasure hunt. The water park will be open for the summer as well as SEA LIFE aquarium.
