Blaze-N-Fun is a unique entertainment business that is family-owned here in Phoenix. Known for their bright red firetruck, Kristina Acord and her partner Emily Androsky bring a game-changing experience to local parties. The two have created a new way for kids and adults to enjoy fire-themed parties and events. Not only do they have fire-themed games and activities, but they have a real, life-size firetruck; and they deliver!
Most entertainment companies are based at a specific location, such as trampoline parks, arcades and activity centers. Blaze-N-Fun offers to host parties with their own unique activities that can be tailored to fit the needs of the client. And the best part? The party is on wheels! Blaze-N-Fun brings the entertainment to you and they always make a grand entrance on their very own firetruck!
“We both have little boys at home. When they were younger, they were really into firefighters,” said Kristina. When it came time to throwing parties, there weren’t any options to incorporate what they were really looking for. “We wanted a unique, outside the box experience. One day we just came up with the idea to buy a firetruck and host parties for kids who are looking for the same thing we were.”
Costs of parties are often very expensive and sometimes parents simply want the comfort of hosting parties from their own homes.
“About a year ago, we opened our business,” Kristina shared. “We started small, just hosting for friends, but through word of mouth and social media, our demand began to increase.”
Blaze-N-Fun primarily hosts kid’s parties for ages 3-8, however they’ve had many other requests. They have worked many community events, including grand openings and holiday festivals. They recently received a request from a Bachelorette Party to use their firetruck! They receive many requests to use the firetruck as a prop for photos.
“The firetruck is definitely the main event,” said Kristina. “We actually purchased it off Craigslist from a seller in California. We did a lot of internet research and only saw videos and photos before buying. We were nervous when it shipped but when it arrived in all its glory, we were overwhelmed. We hoped it came with an owner’s manual! Truly it was just an exciting moment. I looked at my partner and we thought, ‘Even if we never make a dollar, we’ll be the coolest moms in town.’”
The firetruck is a real, decommissioned firetruck that has been restored to be kid-friendly but also authentic. The lights and sirens were disconnected to drive it around, but everything else is original.
“There is nothing dangerous inside the truck. We wanted kids to have the opportunity to play around in there and really enjoy everything it has to offer. We bring real firefighter gear and kid size gear for them to wear. We play water games and fire-themed activates. We offer various different packages and we can customize to fit anyone’s needs.”
Clients love the unique hands-on experience Blaze-N-Fun provides. It is always fun and allows kids the opportunity to play pretend as firefighters and enjoy the excitement the firetruck brings.
“It’s just such a fun business,” Kristina said. “We love seeing the kids’ reactions when the firetruck pulls up. They’re so excited and even the parents are enthusiastic. It brings joy to the community and we are optimistic for an even bigger future.”
