Some studies suggest it can take, at minimum, the length of a full-term pregnancy for a new mom to reclaim her pre-baby body. And, with each successive pregnancy, it becomes harder to lose those stubborn extra pounds. Add to that the challenge of squeezing a workout into an already busy day.
Mission impossible? Not for Deanna Kretchmer, mom to three beautiful daughters and founder of the program 6 Week HIIT with DeannaKFit.
Like so many women, Deanna faced her share of weight challenges post pregnancy. “I have struggled with anxiety, depression, body image issues – all of which are relatable to normal women and mothers,” she shared. “I can also relate to other busy momma’s because I don’t have six pack abs or perfect Hollywood glam. Working out helps me feel strong and confident.”
That confidence was something Deanna wanted to help instill in other women. She started leading fitness classes at work on her lunch break, followed by group fitness classes in her neighborhood where busy moms could bring their kids. But it wasn’t until she was selected (from over 10,000 applicants!) to appear on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ with media sensation and motivational podcaster, Lewis Howes, that Deanna finally took it to the next level and created 6 Week HIIT with DeannaKFit.
Her program – currently offered for just $40 – benefits women of all fitness levels and incorporates high intensity interval training workouts designed to burn fat and calories while strengthening and toning. It is broken down into 3 phases, with 5 workout days per week, 1 active rest day and 1 rest day.
PHASE 1 (weeks 1 & 2): QUICK HIIT – workouts are just 14 minutes long, making it easy to fit it into your busy schedule.
PHASE 2 (weeks 3 & 4): HIIT BURN – workouts are 21 minutes long, kicking it up a notch by adding another round, “As you get familiar with the moves, you will feel stronger and more balanced and coordinated.”
PHASE 3 (weeks 5 & 6): DYNAMIC HIIT – Weights are added, combined with dynamic stretching and high intensity intervals for maximum body burning.
And, it gets better. “My program is easily accessible online and the workouts can be done anywhere, such as your living room, the park, the office, or a hotel room.”
Currently, Deanna is studying for her CPT (Certified Personal Trainer). She is also working on a new resistance/weights based program and plans to start offering local bootcamp classes once the weather cools down.
All of which will adhere to her philosophy of being quick and effective for the busy mom on the go. “I want to share with other women how important and necessary it is to take care of yourself first for a lifetime of health and happiness.”
